PokéSurvival’s progression is a linear gym gauntlet at spawn: eight gyms, then the Elite Four and the Regional Champion. Each gym requires the one before it. Cletus Jr., the Gym Official, meets you at spawn and escorts you to whichever gym you have not beaten yet; his father Cletus guards the Elite Four and will not let you through without all eight badges. Inside each gym, League Official Charles briefs you before the leader.

Badges are not just trophies here. They set two ceilings that govern everything else you do (see below), and the third and sixth badges open the Nether and the End.

What badges do

Your highest badge sets both caps (they do not add up).

  • Trainer level stops gaining experience at the cap until you earn the next badge.
  • Obedience: Pokémon above the cap will not listen in battle. Pokémon you caught yourself always obey up to level 23 regardless of badges.
  • Wild spawns are also filtered by your trainer level, so the badge you hold shapes what you meet in the wild.

The caps are the reason carried-over or traded high-level Pokémon do not let you skip the gauntlet — they sit on the bench until your badges catch up.

Elite Four and Champion

Reached from the Elite Four warp at spawn. Requires all eight badges.

Beating the Champion is the season’s headline achievement; see Seasons for how it ties into carryover.
