Clear Cached Data
Wipe Bedrock Edition's cached resource packs to fix invisible Pokémon, missing items, and pack-update crashes.
Clearing your cache ensures you download the most up-to-date resource pack the server provides. It’s the fix for a surprising number of “items / Pokémon look wrong” or “the game crashed when joining” issues on Bedrock.
How to clear the cache
- Go to the Minecraft main menu.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll to Storage.
- Clear all packs in the section called Cached Data.
- Once those are deleted, you’ll be prompted to install the packs again on your next visit to the server.
If there were no packs there to begin with, then you most likely closed your game properly last time or it crashed cleanly. Either way, the result will be the same the next time you join the server.
Why this matters
Bedrock Editions are limited in what they can accomplish under the hood. Sometimes you end up with two different sets of resource packs sitting in storage at once, which eats a large amount of usable memory and can crash the game. Other times, in-game issues crop up — items and Pokémon turning invisible, textures missing or showing the wrong sprite.
Clearing your cache resolves these kinds of issues about 9 out of 10 times. If a join still fails or things look wrong after clearing, it’s probably worth restarting Minecraft (and the device) before troubleshooting further.
